Shortlisted Pilot Locations

Based on initial site visits, household surveys, and discussion with stakeholders, a total of eight (8) pilot locations were considered as illustrated in the figure below. Following the MCA, it has been determined that Brgys. Pamarawan, Panasahan, and Bagna are suitable pilot locations. As an initial pilot project, the NbS implementation will be focused on two (2) sites from the shortlisted locations below.

In moving forward, Brgys. Panasahan and Bagna will be collectively addressed as a single site in the subsequent sections of this report, considering their close proximity and shared areas of concern within their political boundaries. Barangay Pamarawan, based on its current critical situation and the availability of suitable development sites, remains the top priority for the implementation of NbS pilots. In the end, the pilot scoping for the nature-based flood protection measures focused on: (a) closing the ongoing DPWH seawall along Brgys. Bagna-Panasahan; and (2) complementing the ongoing DPWH dike in Brgy. Pamarawan. The following chapter discusses the proposed pilot NbS in the context of their respective locations.
